Self-identification setup

Self-identification is a set of questions that are related to the candidate's personal status. These questions are shown on the candidate's job application wizard. The self-identification questions that are required or permissible vary from country to country.

You can create an unlimited number of self-identification configurations, each of which can include these components:
  • Gender
  • Gender Identity
  • Gender Pronouns
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Ethnicity
  • Disability
  • Disability Type
  • Nationality
  • Veteran Code
  • Religion
  • Marital Status
  • Birth Date

For each component, you can add instructional text. For example, Specify your gender below.

To associate a self-identification with a job application, the requisition creator selects the self-identification configuration on the requisition. All job applications for that requisition include the applicable self-identification questions.

Note: If you selected a default self-identification in Talent Acquisition > Primary Setup > Organization Configuration, then the self-identification is populated on all new requisitions. Recruiters and hiring managers can select a different self-identification when they create a requisition.

The self-identification information given by the candidate is available to recruiter administrators and HR administrators only after the candidate has accepted the job offer. If the candidate is hired, this information becomes available to HR generalists. For job applications that are processed through Talent Acquisition, the recruiter administrator can specify the self-identification information on behalf of the candidate.

Self-identification components for external job boards with enabled Indeed ATS Sync integration

Optionally, job postings from external job boards are sent to Indeed.

Before the self-identification components are sent to Indeed, administrators must configure and recruiter administrators must enable the Indeed ATS Sync integration in Talent Acquisition.

See Indeed ATS Sync setup.

All active self-identification components that are linked to a requisition through Self Identification Configuration are sent to Indeed for the candidate to answer during the application process.

If a self-identification component in active status is required in Talent Acquisition, then the self-identification component is required and sent to Indeed.
