Creating currency codes

Currency codes represent the currencies in which you conduct business. You must define a currency code for each currency that you use in transactions or in reports. The terms currency code and currency are used interchangeably in the system.

Currency codes are defined independent of an HR organization.

Note: For systems that are configured with Financials and Supply Management and HR Payroll, the finance enterprise group and currency data are created and maintained in Infor Financials and Supply Management.

See Infor Financials and Supply Management User and Administration Library (Cloud and On-premises) and select Administrator > Financials Setup and Administration.

You can configure the shared data with Infor Financials and Supply Management.

Before an HR administrator view the currency code from Financials and Supply Management in HR Talent, you must enable the HR Administration Consolidated Webapp feature toggle.

  1. Select Administrator > Set Up > Prerequisites > Currency > Currencies or HR Administration > Administration > Setup > Other Prerequisites > Currency > Currencies.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Currency
    Specify a customized name or the international standard abbreviation for the currency.
    Note: Do not use a dash (-) as part of the currency name. It may cause formatting issues in other forms.

    To use international electronic transfers, use the currency codes defined by the International Standards Organization (ISO). Alternatively, you can associate your customized currency codes with the appropriate ISO codes.

    Currency Description
    Specify a description of the currency.
    Forms Expression
    Specify a form expression for the currency code. A form expression is an additional description of the currency code that prints on printed forms. For example, USD represents United States Dollars.

    If this field is blank, the default is the currency code.

    Number of Decimals
    Optionally, specify the number of decimals used by the currency. For example, the US dollar uses two decimals.
    ISO Code
    Optionally, specify the alphanumeric International Standards Organization (ISO) country code associated with the currency.
    Note: To use international electronic transfers, use the currency codes that are defined by the International Standards Organization (ISO). Alternatively, associate your customized currency codes with the appropriate ISO codes.
    ISO Number
    Optionally, specify the International Standards Organization (ISO) country number associated with the country using the currency. This number is often used in electronic transactions.
    Note: To use international electronic transfers, either use the currency codes defined by the International Standards Organization (ISO), or associate your customized currency codes with the appropriate ISO codes.
  4. Click Save.
