Submitting time entries for approval as an employee

Use this procedure to submit a time period for approval.

You can also create and submit time records from your calendar if that pay period is open for time entry.

  1. Select Employee > To Do > My Time.

    The Open Pay Periods tab shows the periods that you can still enter and submit. The Not Submitted Hours amount includes hours in Draft status and hours that have been rejected and must be resubmitted.

  2. Open the pay period.
  3. Optionally, edit the Hours and Pay Code fields.
  4. Click Submit Pay Period.

    A work unit is created for the pay period. Time records in Draft or Rejected status for the pay period are submitted for approval. The status of each time record is set to Submitted. After submission, time records are locked to you.

  5. To cancel a time period that you submitted but has not been approved, click Cancel.
    Cancel action returns submitted time records to the draft state.
  6. To submit additional time records for a pay period that is open for entry, click the Add button.

    You can submit the additional time record individually or resubmit the pay period. Submitting additional records cancels work units that are in process and creates a new work unit for approval.

  7. You receive an email after time records are approved or if your manager has rejected any time records.
