Defining external metrics for resources after enrollment

Use this procedure to define external metrics for an enrolled resource.

  1. Select Compensation > Incentive Compensation > Enrollment > Resource Enrollment.
  2. On the Resources Enrolled panel, open the resource.
  3. In the Pay Components tab, select a pay component linked to an external metric.
  4. On the External Metrics tab, click Create.
  5. On the Resource Compensation Program External Metrics form, specify this information:
    Employment ID

    Select the resource's employment ID.

    Compensation Program

    Select the compensation program that requires an external metric such as sales attainments or period revenue.

    Version Date

    Select the version for the compensation program.

    Sequence Number

    Select the resource's enrollment record.

    Pay Component

    Select a pay component for the external metric.

    Type

    Select the attainment to be used to look up the payout amount from the compensation table.

    Select Other Amount to refer to amounts that are used on compensation formulas.

    Compensation Period

    Select the compensation period for this metric.

    Date

    Specify the date on which the metric is valid.

    Description

    Specify a description for the metric.

    Numeric Value

    Specify a number for the metric. If you specify a value here, then leave the other two value fields blank.

    Alpha Value

    Specify an alphabetic value for the metric. If you specify a value here, then leave the other two value fields blank.

    Percent Value

    Specify a percent for the metric. If you specify a value here, then leave the other two value fields blank.

  6. Click Save.
