Using Modeling Changes and Update Steps And Work Assignment Rates action

You can use the Modeling Changes and Update Steps and Work Assignment Rates actions within the Step and Grade form to simulate and apply compensation rate adjustments. These actions are applicable to step and grade schedules that do not have rate progression rules.

  1. Select Administration > Setup.
  2. On the Step And Grade Schedules pane, select Step And Grade Schedules.
  3. Select a Step And Grade Schedule, then click Modeling Changes.
  4. Specify this information:
    Increment By
    Select percent or amount, then provide the percentage or amount.
    Process As Of Date
    Specify the date.
    You can also include exception employees in the modeling view.
    Reason
    Select the reason.
  5. Click Submit.

    If you submit the Modeling Changes form, the Proposed Step Rate Increase and Modeling panels will be displayed.

    The Proposed Step Rate Increase panel shows increments by step and grade, while the Modeling panel lists employees tied to the selected schedule.

  6. Click Update Steps And Work Assignment Rates.

    This action updates all existing step rates within the selected step and grade schedule, along with the corresponding rates in employee work assignments.

  7. Specify this information:
    Increment By
    Select percent or amount, then provide the percentage or amount.
    Reason
    Select the reason.
  8. Click Submit.
  9. When prompted, click Ok to confirm and apply the changes.

    If you submit the Update Steps And Work Assignment Rates form, the pay rates for each step and grade are reflected in the Pay Rate panel. The corresponding rates for employee work assignments are also updated and can be viewed in the Work Assignments panel.
