Defining certification rules
Use this procedure to define certification expiration, maintenance, and renewal period.
- Select Catalog > Certifications.
 - Open the certification to update.
 - Click the Due Date and Renewal tab.
 - Specify this information:
           
- Due Date
 - Specify the completion timeline for the certification.
 - If you select By Specific Date, then specify the date by which the employee must complete the certification.
 - If you select Within specified number of days after enrollment, then specify the number of days within which the employee must complete the certification after the enrollment.
 - If you select Within specified number of months after enrollment, then specify the number of days within which the employee must complete the certification after the enrollment.
 - If you select Within specified number of years after enrollment, then specify the number of days within which the certification must be completed after the enrollment.
 - Allow completion after Due Date
 - Select this check box to enable the employees to complete the certification after the due date has passed.
 - Expiration
 - Specify the timeline when the certification becomes invalid.
 - If you select Until specified date, then specify the date until which the certification is valid.
 - If you select In specified number of days after completion, then specify the number of days after the completion during which the certification is valid.
 - If you select In specified number of months after completion, then specify the number of months after the completion during which the certification is valid.
 - If you select In specified number of years after completion, then specify the number of years after the completion during which the certification is valid.
 - Renewal Period
 - Specify the timeline when the renewal occurs.
 - If you select Within specified number of days before expiration, then specify the number of days before the expiration for when the employee can renew the certification.
 
 - Click Save.
