Creating absence plans

  1. Select Absence Management > Set Up > Plans and Components > Plans.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Plan type
    Specify the plan type from the options.
    Eligibility Group
    Specify the eligibility group. The eligibility group you select must have the subject HCMGroupAbsence.
  4. In the Details tab, specify this information:
    Accrual Option
    Select whether time is accrued based on hours, earnings, or both.
    Automatic Balance Transfer
    Select an option to use Transfer Plans By Accrual End Date.

    The Transfer Plans By Accrual End Date is part of the criteria you can use to determine the eligible Resource Plans:

    • Include: This plan is eligible to Transfer From and Transfer To
    • Exclude: This plan is not eligible for either Transfer From or Transfer To
    • Transfer To Only: This plan is only eligible to Transfer To
    • Transfer From Only
    Time Off
    Select this check box to enable time off requests for this plan.: This plan is only eligible to Transfer From

    Compensatory Time Off
    Select this check box if compensatory to enable time off requests for this plan.
    The Compensatory Options tab is available.

    Buy
    Select this check box to enable employees, managers, and administrators to buy additional time off. Employees, managers, and administrators must buy additional time off during a scheduled buy time off request period.

    Sell Available Or Carryover
    Select this check box to enable employees, managers, and administrators to sell time from their available hours/days or carry over during a scheduled sell time off request period.
    Specify valid request dates and set up minimum and maximum sell amounts.

    Exchange Available For Sell
    Select this check box if employees, managers, and administrators can sell time off and exchange available time for a default sell amount during a scheduled buy time off request period.
    Define valid request dates, default payouts, and set up minimum and maximum sell amounts.

    Future Projected Balances
    Select this check box to view the amount of earnable employee time projected in the future in the plan.
    Employees, managers, and time administrators can use this feature when creating time records.
    This feature is only for absence plans that do not use a service class in their calculations.
    Donate
    Select this check box to enable employees, managers, and administrators to donate time off to their colleagues.
    The Donate Options and Rolling Absence Plan tabs are displayed if the Donate check box is selected. Specify these fields if applicable to the plan.
  5. In the Donate Options tab, specify this information:
    Donate Time Off Schedule
    Specify an existing donate time off schedule or create a new schedule.

    Enter Requests In
    Select whether time off donations are in hours, days, or hours or days.
    Donate Direct
    Select this check box to enable employees to directly donate time off to other employees.
    Donate Bank
    Select this check box to designate the donated time off to an employee before the donation is applied.
    The donated time off is displayed on the employee record.
  6. Specify this information:
    Resource and Manager Plan Description
    Provide a plan description.
    See Setting the balance display options for resources and managers.
    Hours Per Day Conversion Factor
    Specify the number of hours to convert per day for the plan.
    Multiply Hours By Total FTE For Days Balances And Requests
    Select this check box to enable multiplying hours by the total FTE for days of balances and requests.
    Hours
    Specify the number of hours of balances and requests.
    Days
    Specify the number of days of balances and requests.
  7. Specify the fields in the Notification Configuration tab if applicable.
  8. Specify the fields in the Rolling Absence Plan tab if applicable.
  9. Click Save.
