Transition document templates
Transition document templates are the PDFs that are associated with the Disability Self-Identification form and the W-4 form. No other standard forms or custom forms can use document templates.
Some transition forms are electronic representations of paper forms that must be presented and displayed in their original PDF format. Examples include government compliance forms such as the Disability Self-Identification form and the W-4. When the user prints the electronic form, the PDF is displayed the fields that are populated from the electronic form. The PDF is uploaded into a transition document template. The transition document template is associated with the Disability Self-Identification or with W-4 transition forms. The associated transition document template is used during the Print action.
Logos and banners can be used on organization units for transition content without assigning logos or banners to the lowest level organization unit (e.g. department).
The retrieval of the logo or banner considers the ancestors, such as parent or grandparent, of an organization unit. This provides clients more flexibility in establishing a logo or banner at an appropriate organization level. For example, a logo can be established for a department, facility, business unit, sector, or company.
For candidates, the logo or banner used in Transition Content is retrieved from the organization unit assigned to a requisition or any of its ancestors.
Employees see the logo or banner from the organization unit that is assigned to a work assignment or its ancestors.
Externally or internally hosted miscellaneous images can be used, including banners and logos.
Using document templates to create a form
Customers can use a document template to create a standard or custom form. This process involves the identification of the field names that must be displayed in the document. Otherwise, no technical knowledge is required. The functionality is basically mail merge based on the field mappings. If the customer does not have staff with the skills that are required to perform this task, then Services should be engaged.
The customer must have the required tools and licensing to map fields to the PDF before uploading the document template. If the fields are not mapped within the Document template, then the specified data is not shown in the printed document.
- If using PDFs, then the task requires Adobe Acrobat software to create form fields.
- If using RTFs, then the task requires Microsoft Word software to create form fields.
