Adding tasks to transition programs

You can add tasks to programs as stand-alone tasks and as prerequisite tasks. A prerequisite task is a task that is completed before you can address another task. A stand-alone task does not have dependent tasks. When you add a task, you can specify a prerequisite task. You can also indicate that the task does not have a prerequisite. If a prerequisite task is attached to the task that you add to a program, then the prerequisite task is added to the program.

A task group or a role is assigned to a task when the task is added to the transition program. When task groups are used, administrators who are members of the assigned task group can assign the task to themselves. When roles are used, administrators who were assigned the role that is assigned to the task can assign the task to themselves.

Before employees can see their administrative tasks, administrators and generalists must complete these tasks:

Recruiters must also assign the employee to a transition program.

See Infor HR Talent Transition Management User Guide.

  1. Sign in as an administrator or generalists.
  2. Select Transition Management > Setup > Transition Programs.
  3. Open a transition program.
  4. On the Tasks tab, click Create.
  5. Click the Task field and select a task.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Optionally, specify this information:
    Display Order
This value determines the task's place in the sequence of tasks in the program. A task with the display order set to 10 is shown before a task with the display order set to 20.
    Prerequisite Task
If a prerequisite task is defined for the transition program that you select, then the prerequisite task is the default when you save the task. The prerequisite task is added to the task list in the program when the original task is added.

To select a different prerequisite task, double-click the prerequisite task number, select a task, and click Save. The prerequisite task name is updated when you save.

To remove a prerequisite task, double-click the prerequisite task number, delete the number, and click Save.

Changes to prerequisite tasks by this method are valid only for the transition program and do not affect the original task.

Note: If you want to select a different prerequisite task, it must be in the list of active tasks in the transition program.
    Assign To Role For Resource
To base assignment eligibility on role, select one or more roles that are assigned to the task. Any administrative user who has the assigned role can assign the task to himself.
    Assign to Task Group
To base assignment eligibility on task group, assign a task group to the task. Any administrative user who is a member of the task group can assign the task to himself.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Optionally, you can view the tasks in a tree format that shows task dependencies. Select the Transition Task Tree tab.
