Employers, locations and worksites
This topic describes the hierarchical relationships between employers, locations and worksites.
In Tracker I-9 Complete, employers represent the high-level structure of the organization. Employers are manually created in Tracker I-9 Complete to identically match HR Organizations in Infor HR Talent. If multiple HR organizations use Tracker I-9, then each must be set up as an employer. Information for the employer in Tracker I-9 Complete must match the organization's data inInfor HR Talent.
In Tracker I-9 Complete, worksites are used to represent the physical site locations of employers. US-based locations are created as worksites in Tracker I-9 Complete. Web services are used to automatically create, update and delete worksites. Multiple worksites can be created manually with a mass create worksites action. The Worksite Exception Log can be used to validate the creation of worksites in Tracker I-9 Complete. A third-party I-9 Worksite ID is added to the location form for US-based locations. The worksite ID provides a visual confirmation that the location has been added as a worksite in Tracker I-9 Complete through the API.
Typically organizations are identified as employers in the system. However, instead of an organization, a legal entity can be used as an employer. If a legal entity is used as an employer, then the Location of the associated legal establishment is used as the Worksite. The location’s Country’s ISO Country Code must be “US.” If there are multiple legal entities using Tracker I-9, then each must be set up as an employer.
This process uses Tracker Corp’s Create or Update Worksite API. The location record is created even if the web service is unsuccessful at creating the worksite. If it is not successful, then an error is logged to I9WorksiteException on HRLocation. In this case, the Create or Update Worksite API must be resubmitted with the exception processing.
