Transition calculation methods

Calculation methods are used to define dates. Dates include dates and at risk dates, that are shown in the candidate's or resource's dashboard. They are also used to drive some automated emails. Transition Management supplies a library of calculation methods for standard email automations. These delivered calculation methods can be used without changes, modified to meet your business requirements, or deleted. New calculation methods can be created.

Because candidate and resource data are stored separately, separate calculation methods must be maintained to ensure the appropriate dates are available for each type.

If At Risk Dates are to be calculated using the Task Due Date, then you must create an equivalent calculation for the Due Date.

These field values can be collected with an offer in Talent Acquisition:
  • Employment Start Date
  • Date of First Pay
  • Trial Period End Date Override
These fields can be used in calculation methods for candidates. If these fields change on the job application, then the due date and at risk date on any associated tasks are recalculated.

We recommend that the calculation method that is used to hide the transition program from the candidate or employee landing page be written using:

  • the completion date for the transition program
  • the candidate-related-date or the resource-related date

Do not use a task-related date because the calculation of the hide date is not related to a specific task. It is calculated upon completion of the transition program.

When fields change that are referenced for calculation methods for resources, the due date and at risk date on any associated resource tasks are recalculated.
