Attachment types

Attachment types are used to categorize the documents candidates attach to their applications. They can also categorize documents that hiring managers or recruiters attach to requisitions and applications.

Administrators can specify the types of files that are copied to candidate records when these hire actions occur:
  • Hire
  • Rehire
  • Transfer
  • Promote
  • Add Assignment
If the implementation uses Transition Management, then program-level and task-level attachments and Symmetry Tax Forms can be copied to an employee resource record when a hire-related action is performed. The Copy To Employee field must be set to Yes on the Attachment Types setup screen for the attachment type.

An attachment type can be valid for candidates, requisitions, or both. If an attachment type is valid only for candidates, then it can be selected only on the career site on the candidate's profile. If an attachment type is valid only for requisitions, then it can be used only by recruiters and hiring managers in the context of a requisition. If an attachment type is valid for both, then it can be selected by candidates on their profile and by recruiters or hiring managers on a requisition. Documents that are attached to requisitions can be copied to employee resource records. An attachment type that is associated with a candidate or requisition record cannot be deleted.
