Sending mass emails to candidates

Recruiters and recruiter administrators can send mass emails to groups of candidates. For example, you may want to inform candidates know about an upcoming job fair.

Mass emailing requires recruiter administrators to define email templates that precisely address the specific subject of the email.

To send a mass email to candidates

  1. Access Recruiter > Candidate Pool.
  2. On the All Actions Menu, click Send Mass Email.
  3. In the Send Mass Email form, use the following guidelines to specify field values.
    Email Template

    Required. Select the email template that specifically addresses the email you want to send.

    Caution: 

    Be sure that you select the right template. You will have no chance to review or edit the email before sending it.

    Eligibility Group

    Required. Select the group of candidates that will receive the email. Mass email eligibility groups must be defined by a recruiter administrator under Administrator > Setup > Custom Groups. Custom groups defined to be used in mass emails to candidates (who may or may not be also job applicants) must have Candidate as their business class and HCMCandidateMassEmail as their subject.

    Delay Email
    Select this check box to allow for a delay when sending e-mails.
    Delay Email By (hours)
    Specify the number of hours to delay the email.
  4. Click OK.

    The email is immediately sent to all applicants.

  5. To check that the email has been sent, open the Correspondence record of any candidate that belongs to the eligibility group.
