Auto create requisition upon vacated position
You can configure the system so that when a position is vacated due to retirement, termination, or other reason, a requisition is automatically created to replace the resource. You can auto specify a unique requisition on each action, such as terminate, transfer, and promote.
When you enable the feature and a position is vacated, a requisition is automatically created based on the work assignment and position information. Normal approvals are followed, if approvals are in place for the action request, a new requisition ID is created. Any notifications that are configured are sent by the system to the specified recipients. The requisition is set to draft status, based on the work assignment and position information, so changes can be made.
The requisition that is automatically created populates its information mostly from the primary work assignment for which the action is running. For example, it can populate from the terminate, transfer action. If the values that are required to populate the new requisition aren’t available on the work assignment, then the values are populated from the position.
- It eliminates the extra step to manually create a requisition when a position is vacated.
- The auto-created requisition retrieves values from the primary work assignment or position, so users can be confident valid information is used.
- System emails and notifications alert other users who are impacted by the vacancy prompting them to take action.

Email and notifications with auto create
You can configure emails and in-system notifications to be triggered when a requisition is automatically created. This lets a hiring manager or other users know that the requisition was auto created.
