Defining background checks for a background check package
A background check package must have at least one background check. Background checks define the type of screening performed (criminal background, credit check, and so on).
To define a background check for a background check package
- Access Administrator > Setup > Screening.

On the Background Check Packages tab, select the background check package that you want to define a background check for.

Open the background check package and access the Background Checks tab.
- On the Background Checks panel, click New.

On the Background Check form, use the following guidelines
to enter field values.
- Effective Date

Required. Specify the effective date for the background check.
- Package

(Read only) The selected package defaults in.
- Background Check

Required. Type the name you want to display on the background check list.
- Description

Type a description for the background check. If you leave this field blank, the background check name defaults.
- Active

The background check is active by default. Clear this check box to make the background check inactive. Inactive background checks are not shown on select lists.
- Service Type

Select the type of background check to be performed. For example, Criminal.
Note:You should define a background check for each service type included in the background check package.
- Permissible Purpose

Indicate the reason that the background check is requested. For example, "Required by the state for the position."
- Click Save.
