Succession pool

A succession pool is a group of resources that have been identified as potential successors for a position. These resources meet certain criteria for a position search that you have conducted, but have not yet been designated as a successor for the position.

A succession pool for a position can be created in several ways:

• From Manage Resources, you can select a resource and click Add To Pool, or use the Action menu to add the resource to a pool.
• From the Resources tab on Manage Positions, you can select a resource and use the Action menu to add to a pool.
• From Succession Plan, you can select a position and then add resources to that position's pool.
• From Job Career Path, you can view resources that are in a job's feeder jobs and add them to a pool.
• You can use the Automatic Add to Pool action to automatically generate a succession pool for a position.
• You can use several search criteria to filter your resources. Then add one of more of the resources in your search results to a succession pool.

After a succession pool is created for a position, the resources in that pool can be identified as actual successors. The successors can be included in a succession plan.
