Creating talent pools
Use this procedure to create a talent pool in Succession Management.
- Sign in as Administrator or Generalist.
- Select Succession > Manage Talent Pools.
- Click Create.

On the Detail tab, specify
this information:
- Effective Date
- Select the date on which the talent pool is available to use.
- Talent Pool
- Specify an identifier and description for the talent pool.
- Definition
- Describe the talent pool in more detail than was allowed in the Description field. This field is for informational use only and data is not used in any talent pool logic.
- Eligibility Group
- Optionally, select an eligibility group to attach to the talent pool. This eligibility group is the default used when using the Automatic Add to Pool action for this talent pool.
- Bench Strength
- This field is for display only.
- If there are no confirmed resources in a talent pool, then the talent pool's bench strength is No Successors.
- If there are confirmed resources but none are ready now. then the talent
pool's bench strength is Ready In Future.
Resources are not ready if their readiness does not match what is defined as the organization's Ready Now status.
- If there is at least one resource in the talent pool that is Ready Now, then the bench strength for the talent pool is Ready Now.
- Template File
- Select the template profile using the selection icon. This must be an .rtf file.
- Click Save.

On the Qualifications tab, specify the details of the talent pool. Click
Create in each section to
add a requirement for the talent pool. For example, to add an education requirement, click
Create in the Education
section.
Note: Adding a competency model to a talent pool adds all competencies and skills associated with that competency model to the talent pool.
- Click Save.
