Beginning leaves of absence

When an employee goes on leave, the Begin Leave action changes the record to On Leave status. A leave record must be in Approved status to be changed. Only HR administrators and resource managers can perform the Begin Leave action.

  1. Select Administrator > To Do > Leave Of Absence.
  2. Click the Approved tab.
  3. Select the leave, and click Begin Leave.
  4. Specify this information:
    Additional Information

    Specify in detail the reason for the leave request.

    Request Date

    Required. Specify the date on which the leave was requested.

    Beginning Of Leave

    Specify the date on which the leave begins.

    Estimated Return

    Specify the estimated date on which the resource returns from the leave.

    Resource Notified of Rights On

    Specify the date on which the resource is notified of their rights under the terms of the leave.

    Manager Notified On

    Specify the date on which the resource's manager is notified of the leave.

    Human Resources Notified On

    Specify the date on which the HR department is notified of the leave.

    Documents Received

    Specify the date on which the documentation required for the leave is completed.

    Leave Authorization Document

    If applicable, attach an electronic copy of the leave authorization document.

  5. Click OK.

    The leave now has a status of On Leave.

    Neither the employee nor the manager can now change the record.

    The HR administrator can always update the record and change the status.
