Creating bargaining units

For unionized positions, you can create the bargaining units that are responsible for negotiating contracts. For example, American Federation of Government Employees Local 368 (AFGE-368). You can assign a bargaining unit to a position or work assignment.

  1. Select Administrator > Set Up > Resource Components > Work Assignment > Bargaining Units.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Effective Date

    Required. Specify an effective date.

    Bargaining Unit

    Specify the bargaining unit's short name. For example, AFGE-Local 368.

    Description

    Specify a description for the bargaining unit. If this field is left blank, the bargaining-unit name is displayed.

    Active

    Select this check box to make the bargaining unit active. Clear the check box to inactivate it.

    Given Name (First), Middle Initial, Family Name (Last)

    Specify the name of a bargaining unit contact.

    Country

    If you specify an address, the country is required.

    Street Address, City, State, Postal Code, County

    Specify the contact's address or the bargaining unit's business address in these fields.

    Email address

    Specify the contact's or bargaining unit's email address.

    Phone, Fax Phone
    Select the Country Code and specify the Phone Number and Extension for the contact's or bargaining unit's telephone number or fax-machine number.
  4. Click Save.
