Renewing skills

Resources can request to renew a skill. You can renew a skill on the resource's Talent Profile tab. You can also view and renew all skills that any resources have requested to renew on To Do > Qualification Tasks > Qualification Requests.

A skill must be validated before it can be renewed.

  1. Select Administrator > Resources > Resources.
  2. Open the resource, and click the Talent Profile tab.
  3. Highlight the competency or skill on the resource's Talent Profile tab or by accessing To Do > Qualification Tasks > Qualification Requests.
  4. Click Renew Skill.
  5. Select the Requested Renewal Date (defaults to the day after the previous expiration date), the new expiration date (required), optionally add a reason code and comments, and click OK.
    Note: 
    • You can renew a skill even if the resource has not requested the renewal.

    • If the resource has requested the renewal, a yellow flag is displayed on the resource's Skills list, next to the Expiration Date. You can select the Cancel Request To Renew Skill action to cancel the resource's request. When you cancel the request or renew the skill, the yellow flag is removed.

      If the resource requested the renewal, you can also cancel the renewal request or renew the skill on To Do > Qualification Tasks > Qualification Requests > Skill Renewals.
