Creating shift tables

  1. Select Payroll Administrator > Setup > Pay Structure.
  2. Click the Shift Tables tab.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Shift Table
    Specify a code for the shift table. Optionally, specify a description. If the description is left blank, the shift table code is displayed wherever the description would be displayed.
    Version
    Specify the effective date for the shift table.
    Active
    Select this check box to make the shift table active.
    Calculation Option
    Specify the calculation option:
    Rate
    Shift tables with a calculation option of Rate can be attached only to pay codes with a calculation type of Rate Shift Differential or Percent with Rate Shift Differential. If Rate is selected, then a Rate column is displayed on the table in the Details section.
    Percent of Salary Range
    Shift tables with a calculation option of Percent of Salary Range can be attached only to certain pay codes. These pay codes must have a calculation type of Percent Shift Differential or Percent with Percent Shift Differential. Shift tables with a calculation option of Percent of Salary Range are used for employees who have salary structure, geographic differential, and grade defined on their employee compensation or time record. If Percent of Salary Range is selected, then Percent and Salary Range columns are displayed on the table in the Details section.
    Currency
    If the calculation option is set to Rate, then specify a currency.
  5. Click Save.
    The Details form is displayed.
  6. Click Create.
  7. In the Shift column, select a shift.
  8. Optionally, in the Eligibility Group column, select an eligibility group.
  9. In the Rate or Percent column, specify a value.
  10. Optionally, in the Salary Range Point column, specify a value.
  11. Click Save.
