Tax levy exemptions

Tax levy exemptions are used to define and store the exempt wage amounts for tax levies. The data is stored by a specific tax authority, levy year, and filing status. The exempt amount is defined by pay frequency for a specific number of exemptions. Levy exemptions also define an amount to be used in a calculation after a specific number of exemptions are reached. The calculation usually includes a base amount plus an amount per exemption. The base amount and amount per exemption are specified by pay frequency. When a levy is processed and the number of exemptions does not exist on the tax levy table, the defined calculation is used to determine the exempt wage amount.
