Goal section calculation

Goal weights must be specified when the goal is created or during the appraisal process. The manager cannot complete an appraisal until all rated goals have weights. The total goal weights do not have to equal 100.

  1. Each goal score is divided by the number of levels in the rating scale and multiplied by its weight.
  2. The resulting scores are added together then divided by the total of the weights.
  3. To display on the appraisal summary, the result is multiplied by the number of levels on the overall rating scale. The result is displayed in text and graph, on the same rating scale as the overall rating scale.

Example

Score Rating scale Goal weight Percent calculation Weighted score Total goal weight
Goal 1 2 6 20 2/6=0.066700 0.066700*20
Goal 2 5 6 30 5/6=0.833333 0.833333*30
20+30=50
Section non-weighted percent calculation

(( 0.066700*20)+(0.833333*30)/(20+30))

Total = 0.6334 (or 63.34%)

Section non-weighted score based on an overall rating scale with 5 levels

0.6334*5 = 3.17
