In this option, the appraisal approval process is defined by the
appraisal owner's manager structure. Approval follows the owner's current manager structure
regardless of the employee’s direct manager.

The acknowledged appraisal is routed to the appraisal owner's manager.

If rejected, the appraisal is returned to the appraisal owner.

If approved, acknowledgment might be required. If acknowledgment is
not required, the appraisal is archived as historical.

There are four options available for acknowledgment.
- The appraisal is routed back to the manager, then and employee to
acknowledge the appraisal. Comments may be required from the manager, and may be
available for the employee. After it is acknowledged, the appraisal is archived as
historical.
- Only the manager is required to acknowledge the appraisal, located
in their Inbasket. Comments may be required.
- Only the employee is required to acknowledges the appraisal, located
in their Inbasket or on the Pending
Acknowledgment tab for My Reviews. Comments may be available.
- If acknowledgment is not required, the appraisal is archived as
historical after it is approved.

After the appraisal is approved and acknowledged, it is archived as historical.
