Position section calculation (weighted responsibilities, duties used as measurement level)
If weighted responsibilities are used, responsibility weights must be specified. The total responsibility weights must equal the responsibility section weight.
- Duty scores for each responsibility score are added up and divided by the number of duties in the responsibility. This results in an average score for the responsibility. The result is then divided by the number of levels in the rating scale.
- The resulting scores are added together then divided by the total of the weights in the section.
- On the appraisal summary, the result is multiplied by the number of levels on the overall rating scale. The result is displayed in text and graph on the same rating scale as the overall rating scale.
Example
Number of duties | Rating scale | Total of duty scores | Responsibility weight | Weighted score | Total goal weight | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Responsibility 1 | 5 | 6 | 24 | 20 | 24/5/6*20 | |
Responsibility 2 | 7 | 6 | 30 | 30 | 30/7/6*30 | |
30+20=50 | ||||||
Section non-weighted percent calculation |
((24/5/6*20) + (30/7/6*30))/(30+20) Total = 0.7486 (or 74.86%) |
