Releasing a compensation awarding budget to another manager

Managers can release a compensation awarding budget that they currently own to a manager that they report to or to a manager that reports to them. The lowest possible level is the direct manager of the employees in the budget.

The budget must be in Draft status.

To release a compensation awarding budget to another manager

  1. Select Manager > Adjust Compensation > Compensation Awarding to view the compensation awarding budgets that you own.
  2. Select or open the budget that you want to release to another manager
  3. Click Release Budget.
  4. Specify this information:
    New Budget Owner

Select the manager role that will own the budget.

Only the managers that can own the budget are available to select.

    E Mail New Budget Owner

Select this check box to send an e-mail to notify the new budget owner.

    Subject

Specify the Subject text for the email that will be sent to the new budget owner.

    Message

Specify the Message text for the email that will be sent to the new budget owner.

  5. Click OK.

The former budget owner no longer sees the budget on Adjust Compensation > Compensation Awarding. However, if the new budget owner reports to the former budget owner, the former budget owner still has access to the budget by drilling down inside his or her own budget. The new budget owner now can see the budget, make awards, or release the budget to another manager.
