Goal and action plan notifications
You can set up the Goal Management application to send an automatic email notification to an employee or manager. These notifications can be sent when a goal is submitted, accepted, rejected, or updated by an employee or manager. They can also be sent when a manager creates multiple goals at a time using the mass create function. You can also set up notifications to be triggered by an action. These actions include an employee submitting or updating an action plan or a manager approving or rejecting an action plan.
Automatic email notifications use email templates. These templates are set up in the format of a standard email. You can use variable text instead of sender email, recipient email, goal name, goal type, etc. When the action that triggers the notification is launched, the application replaces the variable text. The variable text is replaced with the information taken from the goal form, the action plan form, the employee profile, or the manager's profile.
For example, to notify employees that a manager has mass created a new goal for them, define this template:
To | {ResourceEmail} |
From | {ManagerEmail} |
Subject | A new goal has been added to your development plan. |
Body |
Dear {ResourceFullName}, The following new goal has been added to your development plan. Please check the goal in your Employee Space under My Development Plan and request modifications if needed. Goal: {Goal} Start Date: {StartDate}; Due Date: {DueDate} Description: {Description} Expected Results: {ExpectedResult} Aligned Goal: {OrganizationalGoal} |
When a manager, administrator, or goal leader mass creates a goal, each employee receives a notification with their manager identified as the sender. The body of the message is the template text with each variable replaced by specific goal information.
