Creating or updating a resource competency or skill

Resources competencies and skills can be defined in multiple places in Infor HR Talent. If the resource was recruited and processed through Talent Acquisition, the candidate's profile, including the competencies and skills, is uploaded to the new resource's profile. Competencies and skills can be added by the administrator on the resource's record or by the manager,, and by the resource. This is subject to manager approval. Select Administrator > Resources. The forms are global meaning the data gets updated everywhere in the system.

Competency management skills and competencies can be associated with resources. Any resource that is associated with a skill or competency anywhere in Infor HR Talent is displayed on the Used By tab.

  1. Select Resources > Resources.
  2. Open the resource for which to update a competency or skill.
  3. Click the Talent Profile tab.
  4. In the Competencies section or Skills section, click Create and specify this information:
    Employment ID
    The employment ID is populated.
    Effective Date
    Select the effective date for this competency or skill.
    Competency
    This field is only for competencies. Select the competency, or specify the competency in Other.
    Other
    This field is only for competencies. Specify the competency name if it is not in the Competency field list.
    Note: This field must be blank if the Competency field is already populated.
    Skill
    This field is only for skills. Select the skill.
    Date Acquired
    Select the date on which the resource acquired the skill or competency.
    Rating Level
    Select the level at which the resource is performing this skill, based on the rating scale that is assigned to the competency or skill.
    Most Recent Renewal
    Optionally, for skills only. If the skill is renewable, select the most recent date on which the skill was renewed.
    Expiration
    Optionally, for skills only. If the skill is renewable, specify the date on which the skill must be renewed.
    Last Used
    Optionally, for skills only. Select the most recent date on which the skill was used.
    Qualification Source
    Optionally, select the qualification source. The source refers to where or how the resource acquired the competency or skill. The default is the competency or skill.
    Other Source
    If the qualification source is not in the Qualification Source list, specify the name of the qualification source in the Other Source field.
    Organization Sponsored
    Select this check box if the skill or competency was acquired through the organization. For example, internal training.
    Validated
    If the skill or competency has been validated, select this check box.
    Validation Date
    If the skill has been validated, specify the date on which it was validated.
    Description
    To attach a document to the skill or competency, specify a description of the document.
    File Name
    Browse for a file to select and attach to the competency.
    Type of Attachment
    Specify the type of attachment.
    Comments
    Optionally, specify comments.
  5. Click Save.
