Adding Standard Industrial Classifications

SIC, or Standard Industrial Classification system, uses codes to identify an industry group. The system is maintained by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Organizations doing business with or in the U.S. must identify their industries.

  1. Select Administrator > Set Up > Prerequisites > Countries > Standard Industrial Classifications.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Standard Industrial Classification Group
    Specify the name of the group.
    Description
    Specify a description for the group.
    Code Standard
    Optionally, select a format for the code standard.
  4. Click Save.
    To view Standard Industrial Classifications, select Administrator > Set Up > Prerequisites > Countries > Standard Industrial Classifications. Right-click the classification and select Open.
