Creating position subcategories
Position subcategories further refine position categories. A position subcategory is always created within a position category.
- Select Administrator > Set Up > Jobs and Positions > Position Components > Categories.
- In the Position Categories section, highlight the position category for which to define a subcategory
- In the Position Sub Category section, click Create.

Specify this information:
- Category

Required. The position category defaults from the position category that you selected.
- Effective Date

Required. Specify the effective date.
- Sub Category

Required. Specify the name of the position subcategory.
- Description

Specify a description. If you leave this field blank, the position subcategory name defaults as the description.
- Active

Select this check box to make the position subcategory active. The position subcategory is active by default. Clear the check box to inactivate it.
- Click Save.
