Chart of accounts, Grant Management fields, activities and account categories
Cost centers and projects are used in Infor HR Talent to track costs and expenses that are related to a work assignment. You can also use a defined chart of accounts to track these expenses. When you create a chart of accounts in Infor HR Talent, you can use an expense account structure that can be interfaced to another application with the same chart of accounts structure. For example, if you use Infor HR Management, you can create the same account structure as defined in General Ledger, and interface the data between Infor HR Talent and Infor HR Management. If you use a chart of accounts, you must then define each component of the chart of accounts in Infor HR Talent. See Creating a chart of accounts for more information.
Similarly, you can enable fields in Infor HR Talent that correspond to those in the Infor HR Management Grant Management application, such as those for encumbrance rates and accounts. If you enable the Grant Management fields in Infor HR Talent, that information can also be interfaced to Infor HR Management.
Both the chart of accounts fields and the Grant Management fields must be enabled before use in Infor HR Talent. The fields are enabled on the Configurable Features tab for an organization.
Activities and account categories are another way to track costs associated with a work assignment. These Infor HR Talent features are intended to be used in conjunction with Project Accounting in Infor HR Management. Account categories are defined as part of an account category structure and must be associated to an activity. For detailed information and examples about activities and account categories, see the Infor HR Management Project Accounting User Guide.
Forms for creating activities and account categories do not have to be specifically enabled in Infor HR Talent before use.
