Responsibilities defaulted on positions
Responsibilities default to positions in these ways:
-
When you attach a responsibility group to a job, the responsibilities, responsibility weights (if applicable) and associated duties included in the responsibility group are all associated with the job and default to the position.
-
When attaching a responsibility to a job, you decide whether this responsibility can be used in performance appraisal (Appraisal Criteria check box). If you attach a responsibility group to a job, the setting you select for performance appraisals is applied to all responsibilities in the responsibility group.
If you want to change this setting for a specific position, you can add the same responsibility to the position with a different setting for Appraisal Criteria. Position settings always trump job settings.
-
If you add or remove a responsibility on a responsibility group, the responsibility is also added on the job and positions that include the responsibility group.
-
If you add, remove, or update a duty on a responsibility, the changes are also reflected on the jobs and positions that include the responsibility.
-
If a weight is changed on a responsibility or responsibility group, it does not get automatically updated on the jobs and positions that include the responsibility or responsibility group. You can run the Synchronize Weight action to synchronize the weights.
