Defining types
Types are used to identify the basic issue or policy that is involved for the note, coaching, corrective action, or grievance. For example, you can use types for Absent Full Day and Absent Partial Day. A category can be assigned to a type.
- Navigate to Employee Relations > Set Up > Types.
-
Click New and specify this
information:
- Type
- Specify a name for the type.
- Description
- Provide a description.
- Confirmation message
- Provide the message that is used when an issue is created with this type. If a confirmation message exists for the type and the corrective action or grievance step, then both confirmation messages are used.
- Category
- Optionally, select the category in which this type is included. Categories ares used for reporting.
- Summary
- Provide text to describe the type. This summary is displayed when an issue of this type is created.
- Enable For
- Select the components for which type is enabled. Note
that grievances, corrective actions, and coaching require a type when they are
defined.
Select the Allow Employee Selection check box so that employees can use this type when they create a note.
- Email Automation
- You can define this type to automatically send an email when it is
used to create a coaching, corrective action, or grievance. Select Automatic Email as the email rule and select or create
an email template to use.
When an employee's corrective action record is created or issued, the employee can acknowledge the corrective action using a link in the email. Select Automatic Email as the email rule for the corrective action, or select No Email. Select or create a corrective actions email template. Verify that the Acknowledge Link system-defined variable is included in the body of the template.
For more information on setting up email templates, see Defining email templates.
