Creating time entry records for overnight shifts

The time entry records page and its fields are displayed through the information in the work schedule. Multiple dates in a start time and end time are not allowed in a work schedule.

For example, a start time of 9:00 PM and an end time of 6:00 AM on the work schedule shows an error because both time entries exist on the same date.

  1. Select To Do > My Time > Time Entry.
  2. Select the pay period.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Date
    Specify the date for the time entry record.
    Start Time
    Specify the start time of the shift.
    For example, specify 9:00 PM.
    Break Hours
    Specify the hours allowed for breaks.
    End Time
    If this field is blank, then a blue icon indicates that the record is saved. Optionall, specify 12:00 AM .

    The End Time field becomes blank and a blue icon is displayed.

    The blue icon indicates that the record is saved.

  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Create to add the second row for the same time entry record.
  7. Specify this information:
    Start Time
    If this field is blank, then a blue icon indicates that the record is saved. Optionall, specify 12:00 AM .

    The End Time field becomes blank and a blue icon is displayed. The blue icon indicates that the record is saved.

    End Time
    Specify the end time of the shift.
    For this example, specify 6:00 AM.
  8. Click Save.
    For each time entry, one record must have a start time and another must have an end time. The blue icons indicate that that the entry is complete.
