Purchase and sale of time off

Buy-time-off and sell-time-off features are available only if your organization uses the Absence Management application. If permitted, you can request to buy or sell your time off during specific dates. Hours can be sold from carryover or available hours.

Buy-time-off request statuses

You can view these statuses for your requests to buy time off:


Request statuses	Description
Draft	Requests that have not been submitted.
Submitted	Requests that have been submitted for approval.
Rejected	Requests can be rejected by either your manager or an administrator. Comments are available for rejected buy requests.
Approved	Requests that were approved.

Canceled and deleted requests are not displayed.

Sell-time-off request statuses

You can view these statuses for your requests to sell time off:


Request statuses	Description
Draft	Requests that have not been submitted.
Submitted	Requests that have been submitted for approval.
Rejected	Requests that were rejected by your manager or an administrator. Comments are available for rejected sell requests.
Approved Unpaid	Requests that were approved and have not yet been paid.
Approved Paid	Requests that were approved and have been paid.

Canceled and deleted requests are not displayed.

Examples of plans with default payouts for selling time off

For plans with default payouts, review these examples:


Employee's available for request hours balance	Default payout = 88
175	Default Payout = 88 Available to Sell = 87 If you submit a sell request for 87 hours, you are paid out 87 hours and 88 hours remain available. If you do not submit a request, you are paid out 88 hours and 87 hours remain available.
68	Default Payout = 68 Available to Sell = 0 If you submit a sell request for 0 hours, you are paid out 0 hours and 68 hours will remain available. If you do not submit a request, you are paid out 68 hours and 0 hours remain available.
144	Default Payout = 88 Available to Sell = 56 If you submit a sell request for 56 hours, you are paid out 56 hours and 88 hours remain available. If you do not submit a request, you are paid out 88 hours and 56 hours remain available.
176	Default Payout = 88 You cannot submit a request because there is no available to sell option. You are paid out 88 hours and 88 hours remain available.
200	Default Payout = 88 You cannot submit a request because there is no available-to-sell option. You are paid out 88 hours, 88 hours remain available, and 24 hours are lost.
0	Default Payout = 0 You cannot submit a request because there is no available-to-sell option, and no amount available for a default payout.
