Creating contract types

  1. Select HR Administration > Contracts > Components > Prerequisites.

    or

    Select Employment Contract Administrator > Set Up > Components.

  2. Click the Types tab, and then click Create.
    or
    Click Templates. From the Contract Templates by Type list, select Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Contract Type
    Specify a name that indicates the type of contract. For example, Limited Term, or Unlimited Term.
    Description
    Specify a description for the contract type.
    Rehire Waiting Period
    Optionally, specify the amount of time that must pass until an employee can be rehired to this type of contract. Specify a number and then use the field to the right to select the unit of time (days, weeks, months, or years).
    Note: The Rehire Waiting Period field is for informational purposes only. It does not prevent the rehire action from being invoked and completed.
    Fixed Term
    Optionally, select this check box to require contracts with this type to have an end date.
    Active
    Optionally, select this check box to make the contract type active so it can be used on an employment contract.
  4. In the Contract Expiration Alerts section, specify this information:
    Number of days prior to expiration of a Contract for red alert
    Optionally, specify a number to indicate how many days before the expiration of a contract that a red alert is displayed.
    Number of days prior to expiration of a Contract for yellow alert
    Optionally, specify a number to indicate how many days before the expiration of a contract that a yellow alert is displayed.
  5. Click Save.
