Pending employee contract changes

When a change is made in HR Talent that impacts an employee contract, a pending employee contract change record is created. These scenarios cause a pending employee contract change record to be created:

  • An employee is terminated, transferred, or promoted
  • A work assignment is stopped
  • An employee's pay rate or full-time equivalent (FTE) is changed

For example, when an employee is terminated, a pending employee contract change record is created with a description that refers to the pending termination. You must use the Update Pending Changes action to update employee contracts that have pending changes and clear them from the list. Pending employee contract change records cannot be updated if there are open contract time records tied to the employee contract pay detail record.
