Defining validation methods for checklist components

Before a checklist can be completed, all its checklist components must be validated. Validation methods describe how a checklist skill, competency, activity, or checklist task can be validated (for example, observation by qualified peer, demonstration, or self-acknowledgment).

  1. Select Development Planning > Set Up > Checklist Components > Validation Methods.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Effective Date

    Required. Specify the date on which the validation method becomes effective.

    Validation Method

    Required. Specify the component group name.

    Description

    Specify a description for the validation method. If you leave this field blank, the validation method name defaults.

    Active

    The validation method is active by default. Clear this check box to inactivate it.

  4. Click Save.
