Development periods and budgets assigned to development activity requests
If a learning manager submits a development activity request, the learning manager assigns the development activity request to a development period and budget category. That is sufficient for the system to match the development activity request with an expected budget.
When resources or resource managers submit a development activity request, they only need to specify the start date and due date. The system uses these dates and, if necessary, the resource's legal entity to assign the request to the appropriate development period.
If the development period includes a default budget category, all requests are assigned to the budget for that budget category. The learning manager must then review the requests and change the budget category where appropriate.
If the development period does not include a default budget category, the learning manager must add a budget category to each incoming request.
