Create performance rating and position in range
Use this procedure to create a matrix of guidelines based on a resource's performance rating and position In the salary structure.

On the Create Performance Rating And Position In Range
Guideline form, specify this information:
- Eligibility Group

If you want the guidelines to apply to a specific eligibility group, then select the group. If you do not select an eligibility group, then the guideline applies to all resources.
Note:A planning rule can have only one guideline of any type that is defined for any given eligibility group. There can be only one blank eligibility group.
- Prorate Guidelines By Resource Proration Factor

If you selected Prorate for the budget calculation, you can prorate the guidelines. If you select this check box, then the guidelines are adjusted by the proration factor that is used in budget calculations. Select Prorate Threshold By Resource Proration Factor on the Validation tab to ensure that the validations are against the prorated amounts.
Select this option if the manager is going to specify prorated amounts, so that the manager can view prorated guidelines. For the manager to specify a non-prorated amount, select Adjust Award By Proration Factor on the Compensation Awarding view. The amounts are automatically prorated by the system. Do not prorate the guidelines.
- Click Save.

On the Guideline
Ranges tab, specify the beginning and ending position in range percentages.
For example, a resource's current salary is at 76% of the salary range for their position in the salary structure. This salary falls within guidelines defined for the 75% to 100% range.

On the Performance Ratings for
Guidelines tab, view the performance ratings for the guidelines.
Note:
The performance ratings default from the rating scale that you selected on the Planning Rule form.
- On the Rates tab, specify the recommended increase beginning and ending percentages for each performance rating and percentage range.
- On the Guidelines Matrix tab, click the planning rule to view a matrix of the guidelines that you created.
