Rate progressions and rate progression rules

A rate progression is attached to a step and grade schedule. It includes one or more rate progression rules.

Rate progression rules define how a resource automatically advances from one step to another step in a step and grade schedule. For example, a resource may move to the next step after attaining a certain length of service time, number of hours worked, or performance rating. They may also move to the next step after a combination of two of these components.

After you define a rate progression, link it to a step and grade schedule and then assign resources to the step and grade schedule. The application determines when the employee moves to a new step, which is pay rate. The application creates a pending action to update the employee's record.

Rate progression rules can include an option to pay employees a lump sum payment when they are at the last step for a grade.

If the rate progression rule differs for resources that are assigned to the same step and grade schedule, then define rate progression rules by eligibility group. A rate progression can include no more than one rule for each eligibility group.

Note:

Eligibility groups, called custom groups in Infor HR Talent, must be defined by the administrator in Infor HR Talent. They must be set up with a business class of WorkAssignment and a subject of HCMGroupStepAndGradeProgression.
