Changing Async queue parameters
Follow these steps to update parameters for queues for improved processing efficiency or if you have received the message that the Number Of Threads exceeds Max Active Actions for an assigned Async Queue.
- Select Async Administrator > Home > Queue Management.
- Open a queue.
-
Specify this information:
- Max Active Actions
- Select the limit for number of concurrently running actions in
the queue.
Max Active Actions does not limit the Number Of Threads when defining them in Action Configuration, but will display a confirmation message if the Number of Threads exceeds the Max Active Actions setting.
If your Number of Threads is set to a value greater than the Max Active Actions on a queue, it means that when a multi- threaded action creates all the threads, some threads will be queued up to process after other jobs complete.
Note: The Max Active Actions number should be greater than or equal to the Number of Threads for a specific queue in which it is run. See Changing Action Configuration parameters. - Priority
- Select the priority relative to other queues: Critical, High, Above Normal, Normal, Below Normal, Low, or None.
- Save History
-
Select this check box to retain processing history, which may be helpful for troubleshooting.
When Save History is disabled, successful Async Action Triggers are removed upon completion.
Note: Saving large amounts of history can degrade Async performance. - Suspended
- Select this check box to suspend the processing of this queue. This can provide more resources to actions in other queues.
- Click Save.
