Changing Action Configuration parameters

To run in custom async queues, you can map async actions. To improve processing of multi-threaded processes that is performed in an action, you can change the number of threads.

The level of multi-threading or concurrent processing that is performed in an action is defined in the number of threads.

  1. Select Administrator > Utilities > Action Configuration.
  2. Search the action configuration record:
    1. Select the async queue.
    2. Specify the action.
    3. Click Search.
  3. Change the async queue for one or more action configuration records:
    1. Select the action configuration records from the Action Configuration list.
    2. Click Change Async Queue.
    3. Specify the queue name of the action configuration record.
    4. Click Submit.
  4. Change the number of threads for one or more action configuration records:
    1. Select the action configuration record from the Action Configuration list.
    2. Click Change Number Of Threads.
    3. Specify the number of threads of the action configuration record.
There is no performance benefit if you specify the number of threads more than the Max Active Actions field of the action’s mapped queue. When the Action Configuration feature is disabled, an administrator can specify the number of threads for each multi-threaded action. While Action Configuration is disabled, the effective number of threads is defined from HCM_RunGroups and HCM_Payroll_RunGroups.
Note: When the parameters are changed from the delivered values, a blue information icon is displayed.
  5. Click Submit.
