Configuring and deploying customized homepages with HomePages.zip

ZIP files that replicate the src directory contents and folder structure are delivered with Infor HR Talent. You can use the folder structures to customize many of the role-based home pages, such as employee, manager, mentor, generalist, and recruiter.

To customize the appearance and contents of home pages, you can edit and deploy the .html files in the HomePages.zip file. The home pages in the HomePages.zip file are simple HTML files that look and behave the same way as the default LPL application start pages. You can customize the content in these HTML pages as needed.

If you do not customize and deploy the files in HomePages.zip, the default LPL application home pages are displayed. You can do smaller customizations such as adding or removing icons in Configuration Console to customize the default LPL application start pages.

See Configuring customized application start pages with Configuration Console.

To perform larger customizations that you cannot accomplish in Configuration Console, you must configure and deploy customized home pages.

  1. Download the HomePages.zip file:
    1. Access KB2005763 on Infor Customer Portal.
    2. Click Configurable Home Page Files.
    3. Click the release.
For example, click 2024.05.00 to download the configurable home pages for 2024.05 release.
    4. On the Attachments section, click HomePages.zip.
You can also access the HomePages.zip file and associated directory structure from the wfdata folder in your Infor HR Talent product line.
  2. Extract the HomePages.zip file to your desktop:
    1. Right-click the HomePages.zip file in the Downloads folder.
    2. Click Extract All.
    3. Specify the location of the folder to extract the file for configurable home pages.
The default folder name is HomePages.
    4. Click Extract.
  3. Create a copy of the original files for backup and restore purposes.
  4. Copy custom images to the images directory to references on the html pages.
  5. Edit the HTML pages to customize the contents of the home pages. There is one HTML page for each role. Home page names start with the role and end with Welcome.html. For example:
    • EmployeeWelcome.html is the home page for Employee space.
    • EmployeeLiteWelcome.html is the scaled-down version of the home page for Employee space.
    • ManagerWelcome.html is the home page for Manager space.
    • ManagerLiteWelcome.html is the Manager space scaled-down version.
    • HRGeneralistWelcome.html is the HR generalist home page.
    • HRGeneralistWelcomeLite.html is the scaled-down version for HR generalist home page.
    • HRGeneralistWelcomeActorOULite.html is the scaled-down version for HR generalist actor and organizational unit.
    • HRGeneralistActorOUWelcome.html is the HR generalist actor for actor and organizational unit.
    • MentorWelcome.html is the home page for Mentor space.
    • RecruiterWelcome.html is the home page for Recruiter space.

  6. Customize the files inside the HomePages.zip file.
  7. When all of the files have been modified, create a new ZIP file of the Home Pages directory.
Create the HomePages directory structure as described in The HomePages.zip folder structure.
Note: When you create a new ZIP file of the Home Pages directory, select the contents of the folder, not the folder itself. When you recreate the ZIP file after customizing the files, verify that a subfolder is not created for the newly zipped file. If the ZIP file is in a separate folder, it is not displayed correctly.
