Acting as proxy

Employees and managers who have been setup as a proxy can switch to that proxy role in Manager Space by selecting Start > Switch To Proxy. When they are finished with their proxy tasks, they can return to their own Manager space by selecting Start > Switch Back From Proxy.

There is no Proxy access from Employee Space. Non-manager proxies can perform tasks from Manager Space when they switch to the proxy role. They are assigned access to the applicable components of Manager Space through the proxy role. Administrators or HR generalists who have been granted a Proxy role can switch to that Proxy role in Administrator Space or HR Generalist Space. Select Start > Switch To Proxy. When they are finished with their proxy tasks, they can return to their own space. Select Start > Switch Back From Proxy.

When acting as a proxy, only the security rules that are associated with the proxyable roles are in effect. For example, suppose an actor has the Compensation Analyst and Direct Supervisor roles. They are also a proxy with the ProxyBonusObjective role. When the actor switches to a proxy, the Compensation Analyst and Direct Supervisor security roles are ignored and do not contribute to the security access. The proxy role is with the ProxyBonusObjective. The Compensation Analyst and Direct Supervisor are enabled again after the actor switches back from being proxy to their normal role.
