Defining certification rules

Use this procedure to define certification expiration, maintenance, and renewal period.

  1. Select Learning and Development > Catalog > Certifications.
  2. Open the certification to update.
  3. Select the Rules tab.
  4. Specify this information:
    Due Date
    Select Anytime so that the certification can be completed at any time.
    Select By Specific Date and specify the date by which the certification must be completed.
    Select Within specified number of days after enrollment and specify the number of days within which the certification must be completed after the enrollment.
    Select Within specified number of months after enrollment and specify the number of days within which the certification must be completed after the enrollment.
    Select Within specified number of years after enrollment and specify the number of days within which the certification must be completed after the enrollment.
    Allow completion after Due Date
    Select this option so that learners can complete the certification after the due date has passed.
    Expiration
    Select Never for certifications that will never expire.
    Select Until specified date and specify the date until which the certification is valid.
    Select In specified number of days after completion and specify the number of days after the completion during which the certification is valid.
    Select In specified number of months after completion and specify the number of months after the completion during which the certification is valid.
    Select In specified number of years after completion and specify the number of years after the completion during which the certification is valid.
    Renewal Period
    Select Renewal not required when certification renewal is not required.
    Select Within specified number of days before expiration and specify the number of days before the expiration for when the certification can be renewed.
