Defining renewal rules for skills and credentials

For any skill or credential that has a renewal cycle, the learning manager can decide which renewal date to use.

  1. Select Learning and Development > Set Up > Configuration > Renewal Rules.
  2. Select the Skills or the Credentials tab to view the skills or credentials for which to define renewal rules.
    Note:

Only skills and credentials that are defined with a renewal cycle are listed on these tabs. Skills and credentials are defined in Administrator > Qualifications.

  3. Open the skill or credential for which to define renewal rules.
  4. On the Skill Renewal Rule form or on the Credential Renewal Rule form, specify this information:
    Effective Date

Required. Specify the effective date of the change.

Maintain Renewal Date If Within These Thresholds

If this box is not checked, the renewal date is updated with the actual completion date of the renewal activity. If you want the renewal anniversary date to remain the same, as long as a resource completes the renewal activity within the specified thresholds, select this check box and specify the thresholds.

nn Days before - nn Days after Expiration Date

Specify the numbers of days before and after the expiration date within which the renewal activity must be completed in order to retain its current renewal anniversary date.

    Note:

If the renewal activity is not completed within the threshold dates, the renewal date will be updated with the completion date of the renewal activity.
