Defining online content for activities

Use this procedure to upload a SCORM, AICC, xAPI, or a cmi5 course package, or create online content from a URL, video file or a video hosting service, or a document file.

  1. Select Catalog > Activities And Sessions.
  2. On the Activities panel, open the activity to update.
  3. Select the Online Content tab.
  4. To define online course content or to upload a course package, click Add Content and specify this information:
    From My Computer
    Select this option to upload a file from your computer or local network. File size cannot exceed 100 MB. Only .zip, .mp3, .mp4, and .pdf file can be uploaded.
    Web Address (URL)
    Specify the URL for a web page, SharePoint file, Youtube or Vimeo videos, course package, video, audio, or PDF documents, and then select the Resource Type that matches your online content. Alternatively, you can select Autodetect to have the content type automatically detected by the system.
    Existing Course
    Specify the course URL and select the Learning Standard.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Specify this information:
    Activity Preview
    Select this option to enable employees to preview activity content.
    Auto-launch
    Select this option to enable employees to launch activities from their activities list. Employees can launch only activities in which they are enrolled.
    Require score

    Select this option if a score for the activity is required.

    Minimum Score
    Specify the minimum score percent value.
    Status

    Select if passing or completing the course is required.

  7. Specify online content player settings:
    Selecting any settings on this screen changes the player behavior only for this course.

    Player Launch Type
    Select player launch type.
    Content Object Launch Type
    Select content object launch type.
    New Window Options
    Specified Window Size Is Required
    Select this option if the online content must be launched in a certain window size.
    Full Screen
    Select this option to launch content in full screen mode.
    Specific Window Size
    Select this option to manually specify the window measurements.
    Width
    Specify the player width.
    Height
    Specify the player height.
    Window Cannot Be Resized
    Select this option to prevent employees from resizing the window.
    Show Navigation Bar
    Enable to display the navigation bar.
    Show "Return to Learning and Development" Button
    Enable to display Learning and Development button.
    Show Progress Bar
    Enable to display the course progress bar.
    Show Title Bar
    Enable to display the course title bar.
    Show Course Structure
    Select this option to show the course structure.
    Allow Content Object Selection
    Select this option to allow employees to select content objects.
    Miscellaneous
    Player Header Logo Image URL
    Specify the URL for the player header logo image.
    Privacy Policy URL
    Specify privacy policy URL.
    Player Time Limit Minutes
    Specify the maximum number of minutes for the player run time.
    Enable Client Debugger
    Enable this option for troubleshooting purposes only.
