Defining notification text
- Select Learning and Development > Set Up > Notifications > Templates.
- Open the notification template for which to define text.
- On the Text panel, click Create.

Specify the effective date.
- Template

The template name defaults into this field.
- Text

Specify the text name.
- Active

The notification text is active by default. To inactivate the notification text, clear the text box.

Click the field menu, then select Text Variable Replacement, and then select the email of the people receiving the notification (for example, Resource Email). Separate multiple entries by commas.
Note: Variable email addresses are resolved when an actual notification is sent. For example, if a notification is for a registration confirmation, the email of the confirmed resource will be substituted for the Resource Email variable. - CC, BCC

Click the field menu, then select Text Variable Replacement, then select the email of the people being copied on the notification (for example, Manager Email). You could also specify an actual email address, but this may cause maintenance problems in the future. Separate multiple entries by commas.
Note: Use variable email addresses when the person copied on the email depends on the context of the notification (for example, a resource's manager). You can use actual email addresses if the same actual person is always copied on the email. - From

Click the field menu, then select Text Variable Replacement, and then select the email of the person sending the notification (for example, Learning Manager Email). You can specify an actual email address or a no-reply email address.

Specify the subject of the notification. You can include variables in the text. To see the list of variables, Click the vertical ellipses menu next to the field and then select Text Variable Replacement.
- Body

Specify the body of the message, using variables for all information that will only be known at the time that the notification is sent. Click the field menu and select variables.
- Alert Description, Detail, and Priority
- Specify the alert description, details, and priority.

Click Save.
Note: For a notification to be triggered, you must define a notification rule for the notification template.
