Defining activity categories

Use this procedure to define activity categories. Activity categories provide another way to classify activities. Users can define any classifications that suit their purpose. A common example would be to classify activities by strategic objectives such as professional development, retraining due to job change, and so on.

  1. Select Learning and Development > Set Up > Activity Components > Categories.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Category

    Required. Specify the name of the activity category.

    Description

    Specify the description of the activity category. If you leave this field blank, the activity category name defaults.

    Active

    Select this check box to make the activity category active. Inactive activity categories are not displayed in lists.

  4. Click Save.
